Reader’s Indigestion is designed as a locally circulated, low budget zine that aims to raise awareness of Coeliac disease within the community. Originally a 6 page spread production, here are a few exerts featuring my friends, garden and culinary skillz; in the flesh it is printed on newspaper. Please excuse the body type, the original font got lost between computers.

In all honesty college food kinda sucked. There is no way that it can be good when you are catering for 500 people. While day to day it was do-able, it would get to a point mid-semester or just one random goulash where you needed more. And the great thing about Kensington is that it is very multicultural, which means Anzac Parade is lined with restaurants. While we never strayed much past Pinocchio’s sushi (3 courses for $10!) we did once try a small place on the far end when we had a Laksa craving. Chinese Dumpling and Noodle House didn’t look like much but for under $7 I was hard pressed to finish my bowl. A never ending Laksa – just what I ordered.

At the time I went to Europe I wasn’t diagnosed as a coeliac yet but my aunt was, and Tibits was one of my favourite restaurants she used to take me to. It’s almost buffet style where you self serve and pay according to what your food weighs. Everything is delicious and vegetarian, with lots of Gluten free and Vegan options. My favourite thing was this tea (above) which unfurled like a flower as you drank it..
